Rescued dogs from the shelter in Banovici
The private shelter in Banovici flooded in August 2016. The dogs were living in water, mud mixed with faeces and urine, in improvised boxes. A number of the dogs were sick and needed urgent veterinary treatment. There were dogs of different sizes, ages, character and temperament. The dogs were on their own most of the time. They were drinking contaminated water and were starving, having had no food for about 6 days.
Sejla immediately took in seven dogs into the safety of SOS Sunshine Paws Sanctuary. These were the ones that urgently needed rescuing as they were the smallest.
These seven dogs are:
Innes, who was adopted by Sejla’s mother as she is too small for life in a shelter
Sejla then went to Banovici, taking food for the remaining dogs there, and she brought back a further three dogs to SOS Sunshine Paws Sanctuary.
These three dogs are Rex, Bettsie and Willow.
All these dogs needed food, time, love, safety, veterinary checks, deworming pills and vaccines.
