In Memory Of Honor
Sejla named the shelter in memory of the daughter of Janet Lawson, one of our dearest supporters. Honor was tragically killed in a house fire which also claimed the lives of the family’s dogs. Sejla wanted to pay tribute to Honor by making her a part of the new shelter’s story. In giving it the name Honor’s Shelter Sapica, she has ensured that Janet’s precious daughter is part of the journey, along with the rest of the dog-loving supporters.
Janet has supported the shelter for a long time. It was their love of horses, and of course dogs, that first brought her and Sejla together. When Sejla wanted to buy the new land for the shelter, Janet offered to loan her the money to make it possible. This incredibly generous gesture allowed Sejla to realise her dream of finding a safe and secure home to care for her dogs while they wait for their new homes. Janet also adopted Sapica, one of Sejla’s rescued dogs.
Sejla and her supporters are so grateful to Janet for her kindness. It’s very fitting that the shelter is named after Honor.
