A fresh water supply is vital to life. We need it to drink, to wash and for sanitation.
We look after 30+ dogs at the Sanctuary. Fresh water is essential.
The Sanctuary has come through this winter safely, but it has not been without its problems. Snow lay a few feet deep for many weeks. The external water pipes froze and our lone rescuer struggled daily to source clean liquid water and carry it through deep snow to the dogs. This is a lot of water every day and the load is a heavy one. On several occasions injuries have been incurred and friends have managed to step in to help ad hoc.
We are raising to meet the cost of installing 200 metres of plastic piping, insulation for protection and a small heating stove to run in the concrete room where the water supply connections and the valve controls are housed. Our understanding is that the pipes will run from the concrete room overhead across the land and along the fencing to the dogs shelter. The mini stove is needed in the concrete room to keep the main supply in and the local supply out flowing when temperatures drop below freezing.
